Kos port facilities

Kos has three ports. The basic port is located directly in the capital town of the island. You can find covered seating areas and there are many cafes and restaurants nearby.

No parking facilities, long or short term, are available.

In the summer months the port can become quite chaotic with long queues for cars. So please arrive at least one hour in advance if traveling by car. For more information about Kos, you can visit Wikipedia.

Getting to and from the port

car

By car

The port is well connected and signposted so it is easy to go there by car.
taxi

By Taxi

If you walk toward the town, after the end of the pier (turning right) and cross the road you will find taxis gathered in a semi-circular parking space. When ferries arrive however, you may find taxis lined up closer to the port. Unlike on other islands like Mykonos and Santorini, taxis are not normally in short supply.

By Bus

There is a bus stop just outside the port at the end of the pier with town busses and intercity busses too including the one for the airport. The journey to the airport is about 40 minutes and in the summer there are frequent trips.

I think it's a bit difficult to describe this as a port. It's at the end of a long pier. About 500 meters. It's right in the center. You can't miss it. For the Greek islands it's one of the best because there is plenty of space for people and the ferries. The taxis you can find at the end of the pier and it's in the chora (tha main town) so you can normally just walk to your hotel or airbnb if you are staying in the town.
There are no shops or anything (and I think no toilets?! but maybe there are public ones, I don't remember). But if you have to wait there are many cafes and bars near by.
